Fiber Day at Copper Penny Ranch -
Using What We Grow!
Our Fiber Day on November 10, 2007 with instructor
Sue Johnson of Marsh House Weavings was a resounding
success. Participants learned how to prepare washed
wool for spinning and felting, started learning to
use a spinning wheel, made wet felted Jacobs fleece
hand bags and Nuno felt scarves. Here are some of
the participants at the various stages of production
using Copper Penny fleeces.
Two Friends Art Show 2008:
The Third Annual Two Friends Art Show is scheduled
for Saturday and Sunday March 15th & 16th, 2008 between
10am and 4pm. We are excited to be moving to the Auction
building of the Montello Flea Market on Highway 22,
south of Montello. The facility offers ample parking, a
larger building for even more high quality artists, and
as always the friendly, healing atmosphere of all Two
Friends events.
The Two Friends Art Show is of the best quality
showcasing artists and fine craftsmen from the area and
extending to other Wisconsin artists. The Two Friends,
Sue Johnson from Kingston, a talented weaver with over
30 years of experience, and Penny Negley of Montello and
old fashioned sign painter, who hand letters graphic art
on many different mediums, sponsor the Art Show. Just
like in 2007, we hope to include student art display
from Montello schools.
This juried show offers a delightful blend of artistic
mediums and talented artists.

Women’s Healing Gathering June 6-8, 2008
Trails End Campground – Westfield Wisconsin
Simply Reiki and Nature's Light Reiki sponsor a weekend
retreat for women called the “Women’s Healing
Gathering”. All women are healers we believe and need
time away from the world to relax, recharge, reconnect
and renew.
The intent is to become a part of the present
without technology stopping the vibration of Mother Earth, to connect with each
other without the comforts of home, to nurture each other and to heal
without interruptions. Activities from past events
include meditation, Chakra Tai Chi, receiving healing
from each participant via hand massage, making a
“healing basket” and becoming support for one another
through dialog and activities. Our hope is that the
Women’s Healing Gathering continues to build a support
system for women who heal and need healing.
The
Trails End Campground near Westfield offers rustic
cabins, RV campsites and tent camping. The rustic
nature, beautiful grounds, and the fact that our retreat
participants are usually the only campers there that
weekend, provides us the uninterrupted focus to share
energetic healing practices. Evening campfires help
everyone settle in whether listening to Native stories,
drumming, or hearing the coyotes talking with each
other.
During
the weekend you learn
about
Reiki from
Penny
& Sue and about other
healing modalities from other participants. You eat
healthy food, receive &
share
healing techniques with each other, create community
through an art activity, learn finger holds, hand
massage, movement healing, meditation and other
practices to heal and balance.
Our Healing Gathering art project for 2008 is
creating our own memory/spirit/healing doll as presented
by Nora Feeney and Ellie Bartels.
Materials you can use are scrap fabric, ribbons, decorative
trim, buttons, old, jewelry, twigs, sequins, baubles,
glitter, raffia, dried flowers, old hankies, shells,
beads, the list is endless.
“Within the hearts of these dolls, personal life
stories of honesty, self-awareness, and human potential
are to be found, seen and shared.” Ellie
The
schedule of events for the Women’s Healing Gathering
2008 is located on this web site. The Gathering fee is

Gathering will be available after January 1, 2008 on

Additional Gathering costs include camping based on
style of campsite or rustic cabin. Fees for guest
healing practitioners such as massage, cranial sacral
work, Healing Touch therapy, and other services are set
